Tax Division (TAX)

The Tax Division has been reorganized into the Department of Justice’s Civil Division (Tax Litigation Branch) and Criminal Division (Tax Section) .  Should you wish to make a new request for Tax Division records, please submit your request to either the Civil Division or the Criminal Division, depending on the nature of your request.  For any requests submitted prior to this reorganization, your request has been routed to the appropriate component. Please continue to reference the tracking number originally provided by the Tax Division, unless you receive official notification of a new tracking number.  Please be advised that for any requests previously submitted to the Tax Division for administrative records (as opposed to records pertaining to civil or criminal cases), such requests will generally be handled by the Civil Division.
