About this agency
The United States Parole Commission has sole authority to grant, modify, or revoke paroles of federal offenders who committed their offenses prior to November 1, 1987, and is responsible for the supervision of parolees and mandatory releasees. Further, under Section 11231 of the National Capital Revitalization and Self-Government Improvement Act of 1997, the U.S. Parole Commission assumed the jurisdiction of the District of Columbia Board of Parole.
